1.The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Odisha’s Puri and Jagatsinghpur districts as a deep depression over the Bay of Bengal moves towards the Odisha-Andhra coast, threatening to disrupt Dussehra festivities with heavy to very heavy rainfall.

15.Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday approved opening of 57 new Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) under the civil sector across the country with an outlay of more than Rs 5,862 crore, spread over a period of nine years from 2026-27.
