  6. Global Hunger Index 2021 was released on October 14, 2021. India has been placed to 101st position out of 116 countries. GHI is a tool to measure and track hunger across the world, by region as well as by country. It is calculated annually and its results are published in a report issued in the month of October each year.
  7. UK, Member of Parliament Sir David Amess has died on 15 Oct after being stabbed at his constituency surgery in Essex. Police said a 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the stabbing at a church in Leigh-on-Sea. Sixty-nine-year-old David had been an MP since 1983.
